Mel is built to know as little about you as possible. No account, no name, no email, no ads, no tracking.

What Mel processes

Your melody recordings. When you create a song, your recording is sent to our server and to our AI music provider (Replicate, Inc.) solely to generate your song. Recordings and generated audio are processed transiently and automatically deleted from these systems after a short period. We do not build a library of your voice.
An anonymous device identifier. A random ID (not linked to your identity) is stored on your device and sent with each request, used only to manage the daily free-song allowance.
Your songs. Generated songs, names, and likes are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

No accounts or personal information collected
No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps
No selling or sharing of data with third parties beyond the AI processing described above

Mel uses the microphone only while you are actively recording a melody, indicated on screen. Nothing is recorded in the background.

Mel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
